The Barbican Centre is a major cultural hub in London. Inside, you’ll find everything from exhibitions and a library to an art gallery – and, of course, a cinema. You can even grab a bite in the Barbican kitchen with Spanish tapas, soups, salads and more, before the movie starts.

2. Jazz in a hidden place

Looking to unwind after work? Book a night at the Hidden Jazz Club. We found it online and were blown away – not just by the intimate venues (like a chapel in Soho or underground spots in Hoxton), but by all the musicians incredible talent.

Run by musicians for music lovers, this club is all about authentic, raw performances. We loved the Soho venue and can’t wait to explore Hoxton next. It’s a brilliant midweek treat as part of your 7 days, 7 dates plan.

3. 90’s dance class

Think you’ve got 90s moves? So did we – until we took a 90s dance class through City Academy in Farringdon. Instead of a gym session, why not learn a Janet Jackson routine (or Britney’s, if that’s more your vibe)?

The class lasted around 90 minutes, and it was hilarious. The instructor was super patient and full of energy. By the end, we were sweaty, laughing, and already planning our next one. Another energetic addition to your 7 days, 7 dates adventure.

4. A tunnel of history at the Brunel’s

Step back in time with a visit to the Brunel Museum in Rotherhithe. It celebrates the engineering of the Thames Tunnel – the world’s first tunnel built under a river.

Construction began in 1825 and faced numerous setbacks before completion in 1843. Today, the museum offers deep insight into Brunel’s legacy and how his innovations helped shape modern London overground. Don’t miss the guided tour – it’s a fascinating day in your 7 days, 7 dates journey.

5. Horizon 22

Take your date to new heights – literally! Horizon 22 is the highest free viewing platform in London. Located on the 58th floor, it offers stunning 360° views of the city.

Although you can sometimes walk in, booking ahead is highly recommended. On a clear day, it’s nothing short of magical.

6. Guildhall Art Gallery

Stumbled upon by chance, Guildhall Art Gallery quickly became a favourite. Established in 1885, it houses over 4,500 works, including more than 1,000 oil paintings dating back to the 17th century.

What blew us away was the Roman Amphitheatre hidden beneath the gallery – an ancient slice of history right under the City of London. Free, fascinating, and a quieter moment in your 7 days, 7 dates lineup.

7. God’s Own Junkyard

End your 7 days, 7 dates adventure with a splash of neon at God’s Own Junkyard in Walthamstow. This vibrant gallery is filled with glowing signs, salvaged film props, and vintage neons.

Many of the neon lights you’ve seen in Soho, or even in movies, were made right here. It’s quirky, colourful, and the perfect place to wander, take photos, and soak in the creativity.
